On 25 October 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) issued a press release on the outcomes of the Extended Informal Consultation on the Implementation of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ASEAN Foreign Ministers at the Extended Informal Consultation on the 5PC commended Malaysia’s leadership and its Special Envoy’s efforts for dialogue on Myanmar. They urgently called for an immediate cessation of violence and increased humanitarian aid following the recent earthquake.

Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister, PRAK Sokhonn, reaffirmed commitment to the 5PC, stressing that a political solution must be led and owned by Myanmar and highlighting the ASEAN Troika’s role. Separately, Cambodia thanked Malaysia for helping resolve the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, and both nations agreed to hold a Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation meeting in 2026.
